Badiema Waldrep
Bio:   Hello, my name is Badiema Waldrep and I am the (2011-2013) President of the Hamilton County Council of PTAs.  My husband of nineteen years and I are the proud parents of two incredible sons who are in fourth and ninth grades this year.   I have been an active member of PTA in Hamilton County for ten years.  With both children I have been very active within their schools’ PTAs serving in every office from Volunteer Coordinator to local unit President.

As I became more and more active in my children’s schools over the years, I saw many needs within our community that were not being filled and decided that I could make a difference in not only my own children’s lives, but the lives and education of other students as well.  With my passion for quality education I soon learned that many schools in our area needed ideas and help on how to better improve parent involvement and communications on their own campuses through PTA.

When I was presented with the opportunity and honor seven years ago to proudly serve on the Hamilton County Council of PTAs, I said “yes” in the hopes of spreading a contagious passion for quality education, and to be a voice for the needs of the children in our area. I am very happy and excited to be the new President of the Hamilton County Council of PTAs and look forward to working with terrific people and making a difference in the local PTA units of Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Dwight Hunter

Dwight served in many positions for a local unit including three years as President.  Two of those three years, the local unit was recognized as the Mary Jo Clark PTA of the Year.

Dwight was honored with a plaque of appreciation by the Hamilton County Commission for his work in PTA, and with the President's Call to Service Award from the USA Freedom Corps for volunteerism, and with the Tennessee PTA Lifetime Achievement Award.  He was honored with the National PTA Lifetime Achievement Award.
