Feb. 8: February Council Meeting--Founder's Day at Chattanooga Choo Choo, Roosevelt Room: This year’s event will be held at the Chattanooga Choo Choo. The meal ticket must be pre-paid by Feb. 3 and can not be paid at the door.
Founders Day is a reminder of the substantial role that PTA has played locally, regionally, and nationally in supporting parent involvement and working on behalf of all children and families. Please join us as we celebrate our founders and rediscover their mission. There will be a three course meal, awards, program, entertainment and door prizes.
Feb. 10: Safety Posters and Multi-Media student entries due into the Council for countywide judging: Please follow submission guidelines for number of entries per category and per age division. Contact the Safety Chairman, the 3rd Vice President, or the President for more information.
Feb. 16: Final Membership Report due into Council: Submit your national, state, and council dues per member to Council. National and state dues will be forwarded to state office.
Feb. 25: Teacher Supply Depot shopping day: Hamilton County educators will be able to shop at the HCC PTA Teacher Supply Depot for free school supplies. Registration for teachers will begin on Friday, February 10, 2012.
Feb. 28: Southeast Region Winter Conference, 6:00 PM, East Ridge Elementary: Guest Speaker Karen Davis, Tennessee PTA President. The topic will be: Why be a Part of the “A” Team: The Purpose of PTA. Send your R.S.V.P. to Gail Phillips.
March 1: Scholarship applications due for consideration: Contact the scholarship chairman for more information.
March 7: March Council Meeting, 11:00 AM, Normal Park Museum Magnet Upper School auditorium: Please note the location for this meeting.
Council leaders and the State PTA Parliamentarian will be sharing information with local units on how to nominate, elect and install a new PTA board.
April 1: Volunteer hours due for submission: Please send by April 1 volunteer hours to the Volunteer Committee Chairman.
What's New
Partnership News! The Hamilton County Council of PTAs partnered with the United Way of Chattanooga. We will be working jointly on projects like “Stuff the Bus” that brings supplies to Hamilton County classrooms and other education oriented needs.
